Marker Color Schemes
Five color palettes, each providing 8 colors for dataset markers. The scheme is selected in the Markers tab (Section 5.1) and can be set as a theme default via the colorScheme property. Each scheme is designed to work well together as a set, so any combination of 2–8 colors from the same scheme will produce harmonious, distinguishable results.
| Key | Name | Description | Colors |
|---|---|---|---|
standard | Standard | Vivid, high-contrast primary colors. Best for general-purpose maps where each dataset needs to be immediately distinguishable at a glance. The default scheme. Works well on both light and dark map backgrounds. | #E63946 #2563EB #16A34A #D97706 #7C3AED #0891B2 #DB2777 #059669 |
pitchbook | Pitchbook | Professional blue/orange palette inspired by financial data visualization platforms. Darker blues with warm accent colors. Works especially well on white and light map backgrounds for corporate presentations. The go-to scheme for finance and investment banking maps. | #003087 #0065BD #FF6600 #00A650 #CC0000 #666699 #003366 #FF9900 |
slate | Slate / Minimal | Dark muted greys and slate tones. Creates a subtle, understated marker appearance where markers are present but not visually dominant. Best paired with dark or slate-themed maps where vivid colors would clash with the overall aesthetic. | #334155 #475569 #64748B #1E293B #0F172A #94A3B8 #475569 #1E293B |
warm | Warm | Browns, oranges, and reds evoking warm earth tones. Best paired with warm-toned themes (Warm Presentation, Warm Parchment) to create a cohesive warm aesthetic. All colors in the palette fall within the warm spectrum for visual harmony. | #B45309 #D97706 #92400E #78350F #DC2626 #9A3412 #7C2D12 #7F1D1D |
slateGreyLight | Slate Grey Light | Soft grey-blue tones. The most subtle scheme — markers blend gently with the map rather than standing out boldly. This is the default scheme for focus themes, where markers should complement the map presentation rather than dominate it. Good for maps with many markers that need to indicate position without creating visual noise. | #64748B #94A3B8 #475569 #78909C #546E7A #90A4AE #607D8B #B0BEC5 |
