Views Tab

The Views tab is where you save specific map positions for consistent, repeatable exports. A "view" captures your current zoom level, center coordinates, and crop framing so that every time you export that view, you get exactly the same image composition.

This is essential for professional workflows where you need to produce multiple versions of the same map (e.g. one showing all locations, another showing only Dataset A) or when you need to re-export after making small data changes without re-framing the map manually.

Save View

FeatureControlDescription
View nameText inputEnter a name for the saved view. Max 80 characters. If left empty, auto-generates sequential names: "View 1", "View 2", etc. The name appears in the Saved Views list and is used as part of the export filename (e.g. "US_Overview_16x9.png"). Choose descriptive names that identify the view's content or purpose.
Save buttonButtonCaptures the current map state — zoom level, center coordinates, active crop ratio, and current map mode (Regular or Focus) — as a reusable saved view. Each save creates a new entry in the Saved Views list below. You can save as many views as needed. The save captures only the viewport position and mode, not theme settings or marker styling (those are project-wide).
Crop ratioButton groupSelects the aspect ratio for the view's export frame. Five options match common output formats: 16:9 (PowerPoint widescreen — the most common choice for presentation slides), 4:3 (standard/legacy slide format), 1:1 (square — good for social media or balanced compositions), Letter (US Letter landscape 11" x 8.5"), and A4 (A4 landscape 297mm x 210mm). The crop ratio determines the exact pixel dimensions of your exported image.
Preview crop frameCheckboxToggles a semi-transparent overlay on the map showing the exact crop boundaries for the selected ratio. A darkened vignette appears around the edges with a clear center frame marked by corner brackets. This helps you frame your view accurately before saving — you can see exactly which markers and geography will be included in the export and which will be cut off. The overlay adjusts in real-time as you pan and zoom.

Saved Views

FeatureControlDescription
View metadataDisplayShows each view's technical details: zoom level and crop ratio name displayed in a compact format (e.g. "z12 . 16:9"). Helps you quickly identify views at a glance when you have several saved.
Go to viewButton (arrow icon)Navigates the map to the saved view's exact position — restores the zoom level and center coordinates captured when the view was saved. Does not change any settings or styling, just the viewport. Use this to quickly jump back to a saved composition before re-exporting or to verify that the framing still looks right after making data changes.
Remove viewButton (X icon)Permanently deletes the saved view from the project. This action is immediate and cannot be undone. The view's name, position, crop ratio, and any per-view dataset overrides are removed.
Per-view dataset visibilityCheckbox groupOverride which datasets are visible for this specific view's exports. This control only appears when 2 or more datasets exist. It lets you create different export versions from the same project without changing global dataset visibility. For example, one view could show only "Dataset 1: Current Offices" while another view shows all datasets combined. Overrides are saved with the view and applied automatically during export. This is one of the most powerful features for producing multiple map variants from a single project.
